*Psalm 92:1-2. “It is good to give thanks to the Lord, and to sing praises to Your name, O Most High; to declare Your loving-kindness in the morning, and Your faithfulness every night.”

*Heb.4:9. “There remains therefore a Sabbath rest for the people of God.”

*Rev.1:10. “I was in the Spirit on the Lord’s Day.”

Through His saving work, Jesus Christ has purchased our redemption from sin, and has given us the promise of everlasting rest in glory. The Lord’s Day should therefore be the best and the most important day of our life as believers, and that which should sanctify and prepare us for the rest of the Sabbath week; for it is the day of God’s first work in creation, the day of Christ’s glorious resurrection, and the day of the Holy Spirit’s outpouring. Do your best then to make your rest in Christ and your worship of God on the Lord’s Day the most blessed, by glorifying and enjoying Him.

MORNING SERMONS: Having finished Acts 12 and the series, “Christ Glorified in Peter’s Trial and Triumph over Herod,” we have taken a break from our study of the book of Acts, finishing now the first half of the book (Acts 1-12) which focuses on the ministry of the apostle Peter and the formation of the Early Church. That was 190 sermons on Acts 1-12. What a wonderful and glorious book. “History is the mistress of salvation, the theater upon which God records His name and glory among men; and here the efficacy of the Gospel has and proves its proper victory.” The second part of the book (Acts 13-28) focuses on the apostle Paul, his missionary journeys and trials, and the expansion of the Early Church. Lord willing, I will be able to spend as much time in study and writing another 200 sermons to complete such a massive work of exposition on the book of Acts. This would go very well with my 450 expository sermons on the Gospel of Matthew. I pray that God would give me the financial means and opportunity in the near future to have both these very large works of Puritan and Reformed exposition published for the benefit of the Church.

We also recently completed  our morning series on Loving God and Knowing that You are Loved by Him, a total of 125 sermons. Please refer to the tab on the Christian life and the section on Loving God for the list of sermons. The book when edited and published will be two volumes of over 1000 pages each, totaling 2000 pages. It is by far the largest treatise on the Love of God ever written in church history. BIBLE STUDY LECTURES: Having finished the series of Bible study lectures on the Old Testament for the school year 2019-2020; we have begun our study again of the New Testament for the school year 2020-2021. Because of the effects of the corona-virus, I have turned these lectures into a sermon series for the year.

For a list of all the lectures on the OT and the NT, which will soon be available, you can find them on the Sermon and Bible study lecture page. They will eventually be edited and published in 2 different volumes: A Biblical and Theological Overview of the Old Testament; and A Biblical and Theological Overview of the New Testament. Each book is already projected to be between 1500-2000 pages.

EVENING SERMONS: After finishing the series of 150 sermons on Learning Christ and Living for His Glory in 2018, (a comprehensive Puritan Vision of the Christian Life), I decided to preach a series on “The Godly Pursuit of Reformation.” It has just been completed, a series of 70 sermons. You can see the list and order of sermons on the Church tab, as well as listen to each one of the sermons on the SERMON page. When edited for publication they will comprise a book of over 1000 pages.

Praise the Lord for 25 years of ministry, preaching and teaching the Word of God; and that consecutively every Lord’s Day without break or vacation. What an incredible testimony and blessing of God’s grace and His faithfulness!

*1 Tim.1:12,14 “I thank Christ Jesus our Lord who has enabled me, because he counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry…and the grace of God was exceedingly abundant, with faith and love which are in Christ Jesus.”

GREETINGS: Greetings and blessings in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. It is the summer of 2020; and while there is chaos in the inner city and the Corona-virus plague still lingering throughout the nation, there is nothing better for Christians than to trust the Lord Jesus Christ, devote ourselves to His word, grow in grace and the knowledge of God, and live for His glory in the midst of an ungodly world.

And so the summer months are not to be a time of idleness or idolatry, but of godliness and piety. And while the summer months provide a greater amount of time for family, leisure, and other profitable things, it is to be remembered that there is no such thing as “summer break” in Scripture. So we are to redeem the time, knowing that the days are evil. To that end, we are to remember that “The end of all learning is to know God, and out of that knowledge to love and imitate Him in Christ.” Let that be your primary goal in life, study, work, service, marriage and family – so that you may glorify God and enjoy Him.

During the summer months therefore we use a great degree of liberty in our study of Theology, History, Apologetics, Politics, and Devotion focusing on the present issues of the day. But we focus primarily on the Preaching of the Word and the continuation of our Bible Survey class.

Bible: Our Bible survey class and study of Biblical theology during the summer is of course on the OT Prophets, having recently finished the Wisdom Books.  Along with daily readings in the OT Prophets, we will be using several books as aids in our Old Testament study classes as well as my series of sermons and lectures on the OT Prophets. It is my contention that the study of Scripture should be the first and primary focus of every believer’s daily life and education, no matter what their age or grade level.
