This is a series of approximately 130 sermons on Loving God the First and Great Commandment of the Law. It will eventually comprise a two-volume book called Loving God and Knowing that You are Loved by Him that I hope to edit and make available here for free. The sermons are all listed on the sermon page of the website. It is actually better to listen to them as sermons instead of being read in a book. Jesus said, “Blessed are those who hear the Word of God and keep it.” But when it is published in book form it will consist of well over 2000 pages; approximately 2 volumes of 1000 pages each. This is by far the largest theological work on the Love of God ever written in the history of the Church, expounding upon the first and great commandment of the Law: “You shall love the Lord your God,” as well as the first and greatest truth of the Bible: “Christ loved us and gave Himself for us.” To be sure, loving God is the great treasure of the Christian life and the great adventure of the Christian soul. The order of these sermons are presently numbered in the order they were preached and put on the website. Eventually, I will place them in a more concise logical and theological order. The first volume will consist of those sermons on Loving God, more or less 60 sermons, and the second volume on God’s Saving Love, more or less 60 sermons. You can listen to the sermons in whichever order that you would like, beginning with #1 Loving God, or beginning with #39 Loving God and Knowing that You are Loved. Or you may want to listen first to #47 For God so Loved the World, my sermon on John 3:16. To be sure, we are to kindle our love for God at the altar of His saving love for us in Jesus Christ. 1 John 4:10. “In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins.”
